Frontiers are delighted to announce that the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (Krems, Austria) has established an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers.

Open access (OA) books are reaching more countries and have greater usage and higher citation numbers than non-OA books. A new analysis collaboratively produced by Springer Nature and COARD (Collaborative Open Access Research & Development) presents these and other key findings in a new white paper that explores how OA affects the geographical diversity of readers.

SAGE and Hindawi have recently entered into a publishing partnership agreement whereby the latter will publish and develop three SAGE gold open access journals for a period of at least three years.

The new journal, entitled Environmental Science: Atmospheres, is a cross-disciplinary journal spanning all aspects of atmospheric science. Pluto Journals, the social sciences publisher based in London, UK, has announced a pilot to transform its complete journal portfolio of 21 titles to Open Access (OA) from 2021 onwards. The project “Pluto Open Journals” will be realised in partnership with Knowledge Unlatched and supported by the conceivers of the ground-breaking Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) model Libraria, a group of anthropologists and other social scientists committed to Open Access.

The interactive discovery platform, ScienceOpen, and Trivent Publishing have partnered to launch a collection on ScienceOpen to showcase books from Trivent Medieval. Trivent Medieval is a growing imprint, currently holding ten book series on varied historical subjects: art history, magic and witchcraft, Mediterranean studies, equestrian history, Byzantine history, the history of the Carolingian Empire, as well as gender, and medievalism.

AIP Publishing, a leading not-for-profit scholarly publisher in the physical sciences, is pleased to announce that University of Vienna in Austria has converted their successful “Read and Publish” pilot project, begun in May 2019, into a full agreement. The University of Vienna was the first academic institution to join AIP Publishing’s pilot to develop a sustainable transformative publishing model.
