The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) is delighted to announce we are to be the official partner of The Faculty@LBF, announced by LBF today. The Faculty@LBF is a brand new academic theatre for 2014 that will feature in LBF’s Academic & Scholarly zone, located on the show floor.
As changes in scholarly, academic and professional publishing continue apace, The Faculty@LBF will provide a forum for the academic community to share and discuss issues relevant to the sector, through a programme of session topics covering academic, scientific and professional themes. As curation partners, ALPSP will create a total of four sessions, with additional sessions co-ordinated across the wider book fair content programme by LBF, The PA, associations, partners and LBF exhibitors. Networking slots are planned to run at the end of each day.
ALPSP raised the profile of members in 2013 with a branded pavilion, specialist seminar and sponsored drinks reception. This new partnership builds on this work and will provide other member benefits, to be announced over the next few weeks.
Suzanne Kavanagh, Director of Marketing and Membership Services at ALPSP, said: “We are delighted to partner with LBF to bring the expertise of the ALPSP network to the fore through ‘The Faculty’ programme. We believe The London Book Fair is an ideal forum to meet and discuss ways to adapt to these challenges with partners throughout the supply chain.”
Jacks Thomas, Director, The London Book Fair, commented: “The academic, STM and professional sector is at the forefront of the industry’s ongoing digital revolution and I hope exhibitors will use The Faculty@LBF to share their experiences, ideas and products with industry colleagues. We are delighted to be working with our partners on this development within LBF.”
The Faculty@LBF will be situated in the Academic/STM/Professional zone, situated in Earls Court 1 and will also be fully supported by LBF strategic partners, The Publishers Association (The PA). ALPSP members will receive a discounted Fair entrance, which will be communicated once registration goes live.
