APA PsycInfo Integrates GetFTR’s Retraction and Errata Feature

The American Psychological Association (APA) is excited to announce the launch of a Retraction and Errata Feature within its flagship research database, APA PsycInfo. This new integration allows researchers to identify retracted articles and publications with errata directly within their topic feeds, journal searches, and individual article records, ensuring enhanced transparency and research integrity.

The Retraction and Errata enhancement, released by GetFTR last year, provides vital updates to scholarly content at the point of discovery. By leveraging trusted information from Crossref and Retraction Watch, the enhancement ensures that all articles marked with retractions or errata are clearly identified. This feature includes updates from publishers both participating and not participating in GetFTR, and it displays this crucial information even if researchers do not have full-text access to the content.

“GetFTR serves as an unbeatable discovery partner for APA PsycInfo. Our end users find GetFTR incredibly useful for accessing the full-text content they are entitled to read and we are delighted to extend the functionality offered to include Retraction and Errata information.” said Aaron Wood, Head, Product and Content Management at APA. “GetFTR will be invaluable in ensuring that our customers can immediately recognize when an article has been amended in some way demonstrating our commitment to research integrity and ensuring researchers have the best possible experience when using PsycInfo.”

Key features of the Retraction and Errata Enhancement in APA PsycInfo include:

  • Comprehensive Integration: Researchers can view retracted or corrected articles across all sections of the APA PsycInfo platform, including feeds, browsing, and search results.
  • Accessibility: Updates are visible to all users, regardless of their access to the full-text content.
  • Community Commitment: Demonstrates APA’s dedication to fostering trust and integrity within the research community.

This integration aligns with GetFTR’s mission to streamline access to scholarly content while upholding the highest standards of research integrity. The functionality is also available to all GetFTR integrators, including discovery tools, scholarly collaboration networks, and reference managers, and to publishers who have implemented GetFTR with their references.

At GetFTR, we are deeply committed to supporting research integrity across the scholarly community,” said Dianne Benham, Product Director at GetFTR. “By supporting retraction and errata updates within APA PsycInfo, we’re helping researchers make informed decisions with confidence, ahead of accessing full-text content.”
