ResearchGate and the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) announce new Journal Home partnership for complete journals portfolio

ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and IUCr, an International Scientific Union committed to promoting international crystallographic research, are pleased to announce a new partnership that will drive readership and authorship for IUCr’s full journal portfolio through ResearchGate’s innovative Journal Home offering.

This new agreement covers all IUCr’s 10 journals – including both fully open access and hybrid open access journals. The version-of-record of all content published since 2000 and all newly published articles, encompassing approximately 80,000 articles, will be available through ResearchGate, boosting visibility and readership for structural science research, as well as enabling easier access to subscription content for entitled ResearchGate members.

Through Journal Home, all these journals will gain enhanced global brand visibility through the ResearchGate platform. This increased discoverability and accessibility will grow readership and enable crystallography researchers to more easily find high quality journals for their research. Dedicated journal profiles providing key information and content from the journals will enable ResearchGate members to uniquely explore how their community is connected to a journal. Journal branding will also feature prominently on all associated article pages, and other relevant touch points with members across the platform.

Authors publishing in IUCr journals additionally benefit from having their articles automatically added to their ResearchGate profiles – gaining valuable insights, and deepening their understanding of who is reading and citing their work.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with ResearchGate for IUCr’s complete portfolio of journals, supporting our goals to ensure high-quality peer-reviewed structural science research reaches the widest possible community,” said Alex Stanley, CEO at the IUCr. “Work published with the IUCr has applications spanning a wide range of scientific research areas. ResearchGate’s unique network-based discovery enables these findings to reach new readers and authors and build global reach for our authors and their content.”

“ResearchGate is very proud to work with the full portfolio of a publisher that has such high data standards and a long history of high quality publishing,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Journal Home provides these journals with a unique and innovative way to grow the engagement and community around their authors and content. I look forward to seeing the results from our collaboration!”
