ResearchGate and CSIRO Publishing announce new Journal Home partnership

ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and CSIRO Publishing, Australia’s leading science publisher of books, peer-reviewed journals, and magazines, today announced a new Journal Home partnership covering over half of CSIRO Publishing’s internationally respected journal portfolio.

The agreement includes 16 CSIRO Publishing journals, including hybrid and fully open access (OA) titles across the agriculture, chemistry, health, and environmental science disciplines. All titles have strong established profiles within the Australian research community and internationally. More than 77,000 articles and all newly published content will be immediately available to ResearchGate’s active community of 25m+ researchers, including access to subscription articles for researchers from institutions that subscribe to the relevant CSIRO Publishing journals.

Journal Home enables CSIRO Publishing to build brand recognition, increase international exposure for their journal content, and reach new potential authors globally. With dedicated journal profiles showcasing key title information, and prominent branding on associated article pages and other researcher-facing touchpoints, Journal Home will make it easier for researchers to understand and connect with the community around CSIRO Publishing’s journals, as well as discovering and accessing the research they publish. Journal Home’s unique data insights will also deepen CSIRO Publishing’s understanding of their journals’ readership, impact, connections, and communities, enabling them to foster those connections and support potential authors to find the right home for their research.

CSIRO Publishing’s authors also benefit through the partnership, with seamless updates to their member profiles for any new publications, which will grow engagement with their research and enable instant networking and collaboration opportunities.

“CSIRO Publishing strives to enhance the impact of science by communicating the outcomes of research and empowering decision makers. Partnering with ResearchGate enables us to further amplify the reach and influence of our publications, connecting researchers across the globe with our trusted, peer-reviewed content,” said Arend Küster, Director, CSIRO Publishing.

“CSIRO Publishing produces science and research articles with a strong focus on solutions for global health, economic, and environmental challenges that are relevant worldwide, so we are thrilled to see this partnership facilitate greater international visibility and exchange for these titles,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Journal Home offers a unique opportunity to grow these prestigious titles through a better understanding of who is reading and engaging with each journal. These insights empower CSIRO Publishing to activate engagement and, ultimately, submissions from highly relevant researchers.”
