Michael L. Taylor, MD is joining the Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters as vice president and national business medical leader.
Dr .Taylor comes to Thomson Reuters from Caterpillar, where he supervised the company’s award-winning workplace health promotion initiative. In 11 years with Caterpillar, he developed and provided medical oversight for programs addressing diabetes management, tobacco cessation, cancer prevention and other medical issues.
“Mike will take a client-focused leadership role at Thomson Reuters,” said Chief Medical Officer Ray Fabius, MD. “He will concentrate on assisting many of our employer and health plan customers with population health, helping them develop, evaluate, and maintain health and wellness efforts. He also will collaborate with teams across the business in the areas of thought leadership, strategy, client relationships, marketing, sales, innovation and product development.”
A board-certified internist, Dr. Taylor earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he also did his residency. Before joining Caterpillar, he served as corporate medical director for Pekin Hospital and Progressive Health Systems in Pekin, Ill. He also provided primary care for many years within a multi-physician internal medicine practice.
