In support of International Women’s Day on 8th March, a global event that celebrates the economic, political and social achievement of women, Emerald Group Publishing is providing free access to key research. Two journals and three book series echoing this year’s theme, “The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum”, are freely accessible online from 8 – 22 March by visiting: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/tk/iwd2013
The two journals are Gender in Management and International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship. They both aim to advance knowledge and practice in the fields of leadership, enterprise and entrepreneurship for women. Recent articles include an investigation into financial discrimination faced by women running small to medium-sized businesses; the under-representation of female leaders in creative and cultural industries, based on a study for the Cultural Leadership Programme (CLP) in the UK; and an exploration of the differences between men and women experiencing “emotional exhaustion” of work-family conflict and burnout.
The three book series include Advances in Gender Research, Comparative Social Research, and Contemporary Perspectives in Family Research, which have all published research on issues surrounding gender equality. Recent volumes have tackled intersecting dynamics of gender, family and work; firms, boards and gender quotas; as well as economic stress and the family.
As a publisher, Emerald is committed to demonstrating the real-world, practical application of the content it publishes, and is proud to support initiatives such as International Women’s Day. First observed on 8th March 1911, International Women’s Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike. It is supported by governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups and corporations around the globe.
