Digital Science and ICE Publishing announce a recent integration that allows for the display of Dimensions Badges within the ICE Virtual Library. The badges provide an innovative way to visualize citations and view interlinked performance metrics drawing from the data within Dimensions.
ICE Publishing, the publishing division of the Institution of Civil Engineers, is a leading provider of information for researchers and practitioners worldwide in the fields of civil engineering, construction and materials science. As a Discover indexing partner, they are free to add the Dimensions Badges to their individual articles on their platform. Doing so allows their users to easily gauge the impact of an article by viewing a list of citing works, the number of recent citations, visualizations of citing research categories, and calculated metrics (Field Citation Ratio and Relative Citation Ratio) to help put the numbers in context.
Speaking about the adoption of Dimensions Badges, Product Manager Michelle Phillips commented, “The inclusion of Dimensions on the ICE Virtual Library will help us to provide our authors and readers with more detailed information on the impact of ICE Publishing publications in an open and engaging way.”
Christian Herzog, CEO of the Data and Analytics group at Digital Science, adds, “Our primary aim with the badges is to provide valuable metrics that are both clear and understandable. We look forward to partnering with ICE Publishing and hope the integration helps provide a broader snapshot of a publication’s citation history. “
