IOP Publishing (IOPP) and the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) have agreed a three-year transformative agreement (TA) for unlimited open access publishing and access to IOPP’s journals. The agreement, which starts on 1 January 2023, is IOPP’s first TA in the Asia Pacific region, and CAUL’s first open access agreement with the largest physics publisher. It is expected to dramatically increase access to physical science research produced by Australian physics researchers.

Jisc and Peter Lang Group AG have announced a pilot project for a new collective purchase model. Greenlight from Peter Lang Open will publish and sell a licence for a selected group of monographs to institutions via Jisc’s subscriptions manager. The publisher will then make the eBooks freely available once it has met a revenue target.
