ConTech.Live is focused on how a new generation of technology is impacting the world of content.  We are looking forward to 2023 with several events in this space and continuing to grow this fantastic community. ConTech 2023 will take place once more in London and online and will build on the work from last year.

ConTech 2022 took place last week in London and online where the audience enjoyed the highest standards of presentations. The range of topics in the programme were wide and varied but all held a razor-sharp focus on the impact new and emerging technologies are having on the content landscape.

When a BBC journalist is left on an aircraft in his wheelchair with no assistance to deplane it makes front page news. Every time an inaccessible piece of digital content is provided to people with sight or reading impairments the same sense of helplessness and exclusion applies.

There’s a phenomenal speaker line up. The event is full of inspirational content about the very latest challenges, technologies and transformation stories. There’s also a world class audience including CEOs, CDOs, CTOs, heads of digital, user experience, data and analytics, senior publishers and product managers as well as publishing and content technologists, info and knowledge managers and researchers.

Opening day 2 Lauren will explore how content organizations are addressing the challenge of simultaneously staying the course and looking to the future, balancing the need for both current success and long-term impact. More than strategic foresight, this requires an organizational culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, patience, and critically – new perspectives.

The 74th Frankfurter Buchmesse (19–23 October 2022) reaffirmed its position as the most important international meeting point for the book and media industry: with 93,000 trade visitors (2021: 36,000 trade visitors) and 87,000 private visitors (2021: 37,500 private visitors), Frankfurter Buchmesse was well frequented.

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) is excited to begin planning our 45th Annual Meeting, scheduled for May 31 – June 2, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. Proposal submissions are now open! 

Now in our 5th year, why do our chairs love working on ConTech Live and what are they particularly looking forward to at this year's conference? We caught up with them a couple of weeks’ ago to find out.

We’re delighted to announce that registration is now open for the fourth annual NISO Plus conference (February 14-16, 2023), which will once again take place online, and across two blocks of time — Americas morning/Europe, Middle East & Africa afternoon and Americas evening/Asia Pacific morning — to allow maximum participation from all around the world.
