Cambridge University Press is to take on the publication of the highly-regarded psychology journal, Judgment and Decision Making. Co-owned by the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, and the European Association of Decision Making, the open access journal has made a name for itself through publishing high impact research and its dedication to author experience.

Springer Nature has signed its largest institutional OA book deal with the Max Planck Society through the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL). The agreement covers all Springer Nature book imprints, across a broad range of disciplines, providing OA funding to affiliated authors from over 80 Max Planck Institutes.

The open-access publisher Frontiers has acquired the journal Oncology Reviews from PAGEPress. The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Frontiers. It is the first journal the publisher has acquired since it was founded in 2007. Oncology Reviews is also Frontiers’ first proprietary Reviews journal, aiming to publish highly impactful reviews, thought-provoking editorials and opinion pieces.

As the largest publisher of open access (OA) primary research, Springer Nature continues to explore new outlets and platforms for the advancement of scientific discovery. BMC’s (part of Springer Nature) latest addition to the fully OA journal portfolio BMC Digital Health, is a key example of that. Providing a venue for research on virtual healthcare, wearable technology, as well as the role of social media and other communications technology in digital health - this journal will sit at the cutting edge of research around developments in digital medical practice.

Leveraging free and open texts created and updated by distinguished legal scholars, the series offers high-quality yet affordable printed textbooks for use in law teaching across the country, tied to online access to the works and legal opinions under open licenses.

The Public Library of Science (PLOS) today announced that PLOS Sustainability and Transformation published its initial cohort of papers. The journal’s mission is to empower key decision makers to take immediate action for the sustainability of our environment, our economy, and the societies around the world who depend on it. The journal has so far received more than 70 submissions from researchers around the world.

Open Books, the new Open Access imprint of University of Buckingham Press, has released its first title: Grow and Evolve Your Business edited by Jonathan Reuvid and including a host of high profile contributors.

The Public Library of Science (PLOS) today announced that PLOS Water has published its initial cohort of papers. The journal’s mission is to connect researchers across the hydrology, water resources, and water, sanitation and hygiene communities, amplifying a diverse set of voices to influence the global discourse around water. The journal has so far received more than 60 submissions from researchers around the world.
