Elsevier today announced a collaboration with ExitCare LLC, an enterprise-wide solution for patient education. ExitCare’s content provides Elsevier customers with patient education information available in multiple languages. The ExitCare system’s ability to identify and provide appropriate patient education documents helps providers meet their patient’s educational needs.
ExitCare now provides Mosby’s Nursing Consult customers more than 6,000 instructions, the majority at a 6th-8th grade reading level, with additional instructions at a 2nd-4th grade reading level. The majority of the English titles have been translated to Spanish. Mosby’s Nursing Consult customers are able to select the content in eight available languages to best fit the organization’s patient population.
“We are excited to partner with Elsevier. Our content products complement each other to address customer needs such as care transitions, improving workflow, patient empowerment and more,” said Roger Jacobi, president of ExitCare. “This will truly be a win-win opportunity for our respective companies. ExitCare’s sophisticated tagging of content helps Elsevier customers address the needs of a diverse patient population.”
Additionally, other benefits to Mosby’s Nursing Consult users include:
- Graphics featured within many patient instructions
- Emergency Department Discharge Instructions as part of the product solution
- Quarterly content updates
“At Elsevier, we are focused on providing a better user experience and allowing customers to achieve better results when it comes to patient education,” said John Schrefer, President of Elsevier/MCStrategies. “Our collaboration with ExitCare brings a significant advancement in patient education within our products, and we anticipate a better experience for our customers to improve patient outcomes.”
Plans are also underway to integrate ExitCare content into the offerings of Elsevier/Gold Standard, as well as MDConsult.
