To help deliver the successful implementation of Plan S, Robert Kiley, Head of Open Research at Wellcome, has been seconded to cOAlition S as Head of Strategy for 6 months, from 1st June 2021.
During this secondment, Robert will work to build and maintain strategic relationships with publishers, including taking forward the work relating to price and service transparency frameworks. Robert will also work closely with the cOAlition S Executive Director on providing thought leadership and strategic direction for national and international policy on Plan S, engaging with other funders to encourage them to develop Open Access policies, fully aligned with Plan S.
Robert will also continue to represent Wellcome’s Plan S-aligned position on Open Access with external stakeholders.
Commenting on the secondment Robert said: “I am truly excited by this opportunity. For the last two years, I have supported cOAlition S as its Coordinator on an interim, part-time basis. I will seek to build on the knowledge and experience gained through this role to help cOAlition S realise its ambition to deliver full and immediate open access”.
