The IET and CEPRI (the China Electric Power Research Institute)have launched the first issue of a new fully open access journal, High Voltage.
The first edition includes special issue papers on lightning and lightning protection, which were guest edited by Professor Rong Zeng, Dean of the Electrical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, as well as Invited Review and research articles. As a fully open access journal, High Voltage forms part of the IET’s continuing mission to develop open access quality engineering content and accelerate both research and innovation. In order to promote this goal, the IET and CEPRI have waived all APC (Article Processing Charges) for High Voltage in 2016.
High Voltage is the latest addition to the IET’s Power and Control series hosted on the IET’s Digital Library and joins research journals including IET Power Electronics and IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution. The new online-only journal publishes original research papers and review articles covering high-voltage power engineering and applications, including experimental, computational and theoretical studies. The partnership is also supported by Tsinghua University, one of China’s leading academic institutions.
Daniel Smith, Head of Academic Publishing at the IET said: “We are delighted to be partnering with both CEPRI and Tsinghua University in the publication of this new journal. It promises to be a great vehicle to highlight the excellent research emanating from China and doubtless attract contributions from researchers worldwide. This agreement is another example of our commitment to developing partnerships with institutions which share the IET’s aims to make essential engineering intelligence available to the worldwide engineering community.”
Mrs Jin Liu, Publishing Centre Director at CEPRI, said: “In combining the strength of three top players in their own fields, we look forward to establishing a world-class platform for scientific communication in future power and high voltage applications, and hopefully providing direction for further research.”
The journal’s first Editors-in-Chief, Professor Zhicheng Guan of Tsinghua University, China and Professor Masoud Farzaneh of Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), Canada are supported by an international Editorial Board with expertise in a wide range of electrical and high-voltage engineering fields.
High Voltage is now available on the IET’s Digital Library with four issues per year. Read the first issue here.
